The Dengate family have been local farmers for generations. Their link with Jempsons began with a fruit and veg wholesale company in the 1940s and has continued over the years, and is now in its third generation, providing seasonal apples and plums to Jempsons’ stores each year.
David Dengate grows 19 varieties of apples in his orchards in Peasmarsh. The apples are allowed to ripen on the tree in order to mature fully. They are picked daily and delivered to the stores throughout August – November each year.
We’d be surprised if any national supermarket could honestly boast fresher produce than this!
