Jempson’s are Proud to Support Stone-cum-Ebony Village Recipe Book

We’re delighted to share that Jempson’s has donated £250 towards the publication of the Stone-cum-Ebony Village Recipe Book, helping bring together a wonderful collection of recipes, memories, and local history.

What started as a simple request for Sue Lowrie’s famous cheese scone recipe following the 2025 Heaviest Pumpkin Competition soon blossomed into something much bigger. The idea evolved into a celebration of village life, community spirit, and the talented home cooks whose recipes have been enjoyed at countless local events over the years.

The recipe book follows on from two successful community projects, Our Village in Lockdown and An Ordinary Year of Village Life, and aims to become another treasured keepsake that preserves local traditions, favourite family recipes, and the stories that bring the community together.

At Jempson’s, we’re proud to support initiatives that celebrate the people and places that make our local communities so special. Projects like this help ensure that local heritage, friendships, and shared memories can be enjoyed for generations to come.

As contributor Maria so perfectly put it:

“Happy things should be celebrated more.”
