This service was set up in a “big rush” a year ago! Our Team now comprises over 10 colleagues with extras drafted in during busy periods.

Donate your SavaClub Card Coupon to the Jempson Foundation Hardship Fund

 Throughout the COVID pandemic, The Jempson Foundation Hardship Fund have been donating to numerous establishments and people within the local community that really need our help. We have personally heard of some most distressing cases, so we do thank you for your continued generosity.

A longstanding customer has made the excellent suggestion that in this time of need, customers be given the opportunity to hand their individual SavaClub COUPONS into Customer Services at Peasmarsh store with all proceeds being donated to The Jempson Foundation Hardship fund. Please remember to tick the box on your coupon saying you wish to donate.

Rye Food Bank Appeal – £22,000.00 and counting…..

A heartfelt “Thank You” for all of your donations received. Rye Food Bank alone are still supporting 40-60 local families who find themselves in financial crisis.

Our charitable trust, The Jempson Foundation has been accepting monetary donations on behalf of the Rye Food Bank and to date an amazing £22,000.00 has been raised for the appeal.

Donation to the Footbridge Project

The Jempson Foundation recently made a donation to Footbridge Project, Bexhill to update the Footbridge into a beautiful open-air art gallery with artworks from the community.

Diana Birch said, “We would like to thank The Jempson Foundation for their support. The donation is so gratefully received. At this time extraordinary and distressing time when we are all in need of some hope and cheer in our lives, this project is a simple way to unite the community, create and spread a bit of happiness and show Bexhill can offer a great cultural experience whilst making the footbridge safe and fit for purpose. Thank you, this donation will make a real difference.”

Donation to Rye & District Community Transport

The Jempson Foundation has donated £2,500.00 to the Rye and District Community Bus, to help cover costs of transporting the local community to the Covid Vaccination Centre in Etchingham.
Pat Hughes said “I am overwhelmed by the donation – THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Many thanks to The Jempson Foundation for offering to support our vaccination transport, the whole operation is making such a difference to the community and the scale of what is being done at Etchingham is just amazing, it could not have been achieved for Rye on its own, and it’s giving people a nice day out!”
For Rye and District residents, the Community Bus service will be available each day to ferry those unable to travel by other means. Pat Hughes, Operations Manager, has offered free of charge travel to ensure that everyone needing to make the journey can do so.

Bank Holiday Charity Boot Fairs

Covid restrictions allowing/permitting, we hope to be able to host our charity Boot Fairs this year in the Peasmarsh Superstore car park.

All sales of pitch proceeds will be donated to local good causes and the Easter Bank Holiday event on April 5th, in aid of Rye & District Community Transport will (hopefully) be the first in this year’s calendar.

All of the dates are listed below, so pop them in your diary*

5th April – Rye & District Community Transport

3rd May – The Music Well

31st May – Rye Hospital

30th August – Rye & District Day Centre

These local charities will benefit from both our hospitality and, we hope, your support.

You can buy a hard-standing pitch on the day from £7 (which we donate to charity) and gates open at 7am.

There’s plenty of free parking.

COVID-19 secure guidelines will be implemented to protect shoppers and colleagues.

Face masks are advised to be worn at all times.

Traders, you will be required to manage your queuing systems and serve customers safely. It is essential you follow Public Health advice and remind customers not to handle products unless they are going to purchase them.

All vendors must provide their own sanitising products for customers and individual stalls.

Contactless card payment should be used where possible.

Peasmarsh Pharmacy Update

Following increased customer demand for its services, the in-store Pharmacy at our Peasmarsh Superstore, will be relocating to a larger area.

Works will commence 8th February, and are expected to last three weeks.

The Pharmacy will remain open in its current location offering full services throughout.

Stephen Jempson said ‘We initially opened the Peasmarsh Pharmacy in July 2013. The services provided by David, George, Stanley and Kate are absolutely first class, demand and sales have more than doubled year on year’. he continued ‘The relocation will see a larger working area with room to expand all the services we offer. Having two consulting rooms will also greatly benefit our customers, alongside, there will a new and enhanced Health & Beauty section’. He added ‘However, what I am really excited about is that we are launching a new Healthy Living area, this will include new and enhanced features on Free From products, Gluten Free and Wellbeing ranges, enhanced Energy & Protein sections and additional superfoods and Vegan offerings”.
