Donation to Rye & District Community Transport

The Jempson Foundation has donated £2,500.00 to the Rye and District Community Bus, to help cover costs of transporting the local community to the Covid Vaccination Centre in Etchingham.
Pat Hughes said “I am overwhelmed by the donation – THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Many thanks to The Jempson Foundation for offering to support our vaccination transport, the whole operation is making such a difference to the community and the scale of what is being done at Etchingham is just amazing, it could not have been achieved for Rye on its own, and it’s giving people a nice day out!”
For Rye and District residents, the Community Bus service will be available each day to ferry those unable to travel by other means. Pat Hughes, Operations Manager, has offered free of charge travel to ensure that everyone needing to make the journey can do so.

Additional COVID19 Precautions

We continue to take every measure possible to keep everyone safe and reduce the risk of spreading the infection, and would like to remind customers that the below steps are necessary to protect our staff, our customers and vulnerable members of the community.

ALL CUSTOMERS MUST:

  • Wearing a face covering in-store is mandatory (on entry and during your time in store).

If you don’t have your own, please speak to a colleague for help. Refer to the latest Government advice for exemptions.

  • Sanitize their hands with the hand-wipe provided on entry to the store. (If you are wearing gloves, you must wipe your gloved hands).

A stringent surface sanitizing routine throughout the store is in place. However, we encourage you to retain the hand-wipe and use it to wipe the handle of your basket or trolley.

For your own safety and the safety of others, please ensure you maintain the 2 metre (6’) distancing rule between other shoppers and staff AT ALL TIMES whilst in the store.

Customers are asked to practice good respiratory hygiene at all times – coughs and sneezes spray infection through the air. Please cough into your elbow or shoulder.

PLEASE DO RESPECT ALL OUR COLLEAGUES.

May we thank you for your continued cooperation.

Stephen and every colleague in every store say “THANK YOU” for the many kind compliments we have received.

Jingle all the way on the Children’s ward

Seventy-three of our colleagues from the Peasmarsh Superstore, have gifted over 100 Christmas presents to the Kipling Children’s Ward at the Conquest in Hastings, for those who will be in hospital over the festive season.

Abbey Tank said “My colleagues and I decided that after such a tumultuous year, instead of our usual ‘Secret Santa’, it would be a truly lovely gesture to give presents instead to those children in our local hospital who cannot be home with their families this Christmas, and will have further visiting restrictions due to Covid” she continued “We have presents for boys and girls of all ages, from newborns to 10+ which were chosen by the team, then wrapped and labelled. We hope that this is a little something that will help brighten-up their time whilst they are recuperating”

Gifts were donated to ward nurses and will be distributed on Christmas morning.
